Trail
Riding
Admittedly, foxhunting is not everyone's special passion. For our
riders who do not wish to gallop across field and wood at top speeds
and for our hunters looking for a way to fill the spring and summer
months we offer trail rides away from the barn on a regular basis.
These rides are open to others who wish to join us by arrangement.
- Day
rides are scheduled monthly to trails in Mississippi. We've explored
Long Leaf Trace, Shockaloe Trail, the Natchez Trace trails, Bonita Lake
Trail, Big Foot Trail and enjoyed riding as guest of several landowners
in central Mississippi.
- Weekend
rides are schedule two or three times each year, so that we may ride a
little further from home. Brushy Creek Ranch, pictured here, is one of
our favorite places to go. We've also enjoyed the area surrounding
Grenada Lake and scheduled a ride at Hodges Garden in Louisiana.
- Each
year, a "long weekend" (5 day) trip is arranged. We have ridden in
several Tennessee state parks, finishing the trip with a visit to Beech
Grove Hunt and participation in their annual fundraiser. We have
traveled north to Shaker Village near Lexington, KY, enjoying a day at
the Kentucky Horse Park and a cruise on the Ohio River. This year's
trip is to the plains and mountains of Oklahoma.
